The Victoria Hotel in Melbourne?
I'm doing some hotel research as I'm travelling to Melbourne soon. I came across the Victoria Hotel on Little Collins Street and was wondering if anyone else had stayed here? Also, if you have stayed in the standard rooms; which allow smoking? Did the rooms smell of cigarette smoke upon entering the room?
ThanksThe Victoria Hotel in Melbourne?
The Victoria Hotel has been around forever and is a good, clean, comfortable hotel in a fantastic location!! :)
I haven't stayed there myself but relatives who come to Melbourne from the country always stay there and speak highly of it. As for the smoking??? Not sure on smoking regulations if they are still able to smoke in rooms??? My relatives are not smokers and would have complained if rooms smelt!! Hope this helps :)The Victoria Hotel in Melbourne?
never stayed there, but i've drank there. nice place, nothing out of the ordinary really. However there are regulations about smoking in hotels - you can't, so i doubt its going to smell like smoke

How to get to Victoria Coach Station to Southwark when Jubilee line is down?
I need to get frm Victoria Coach Station OR Baker Street to my hotel in Southwark on a Sunday but the jubilee line is down. What is the next best option? I will also need to get from Southwark to the O2 arena that same day without using the jubilee line? Help!!How to get to Victoria Coach Station to Southwark when Jubilee line is down?
From the Baker St tube station take the Bakerloo line to Waterloo and it will be a short walk to Southwark. To get to o2 take the Northern line from Waterloo to Bank. At Bank get on the DLR to Canary Wharf, then find a bus line to o2.How to get to Victoria Coach Station to Southwark when Jubilee line is down?

The C10 which goes from Victoria Coach station might take you near to your hotel.

If you are coming from Baker Street, then just take a south bound Bakerloo Line Tube train to Waterloo and take a bus from there to Southwark.
Buses from Waterloo - the 381 looks a possibility for you. . .

The Jubillee Line is only closed between Stanmore and Waterloo (Saturday) / West Hampstead (Sunday). So this don't affect you.
What you do is to alight the coach at Baker Street. Take the JUBILEE LINE to Southwark.
From Southwark again, take the Jubillee Line to North Greenwich (station for 02).
On the way I suggest taking the coach at Victoria and that is the first stop.
BTW, Enjoy the concert!

Any backpacker hotels near sm megamall or mtr line manila?
hi there,
I'm looking for victoria court hotel or sogo hotel branches near sm megamall or along the mtr line of ortigas or shaw bolevard. Flying by Tiger Airways so will only land at Clark but will take free shuttle to sm megamall. First time travelling to manila so really need advice.
thanksAny backpacker hotels near sm megamall or mtr line manila?
backpacker hotels are mostly located along malate in manila. along edsa, the nearest sogo to megamall is located in guadalupe,or there's one along edsa corner aurora in cubao but farther than guadalupe so i recommend guadalupe. both are along the MRT line..
as for victoria court, the nearest to megamall or ortigas is located in pasig. normally the fx's going to pasig that comes from robinson's galleria or megamall pass by victoria. so it's a bit easy to look for it..Any backpacker hotels near sm megamall or mtr line manila?
yes, and there are also other decent traveller's inns somewhere in guadalupe area (makati) princess inn is ideal for backpackers somewhere at the back of jollibee. This means you can go down edsa guadalupe station from megamall and walk towards jollibee...
for victoria and other motels however you should avoid valentine's day ...they're usually full.
.Any backpacker hotels near sm megamall or mtr line manila?
There's a sogo hotel in Guadalupe along EDSA. You can take a bus or ride an MRT going to Guadalupe station then you can easily find it. or you can try Richville Mansion along EDSa also at Shaw Blvd mrt station.

Can anyone recommend a clean cheap single ensuite room near Victoria Station?
Can anyone please recommend a clean cheap/inexpensive single room (for one person) that is en-suite and clean near Victoria Station, or maybe even King's Cross?
Sometimes it pays to ask around where people have stayed. When looking online at various sites for cheap hotels, there is no way really to know if the rooms are clean. The reviews that are sometimes posted can be horrible. There must be a clean en-suite room somewhere that has perhaps not received a review.
I am looking for a room in a hotel that more local people know about instead of searching on a tourist trap internet site.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Can anyone recommend a clean cheap single ensuite room near Victoria Station?
I stayed at the Jubilee Hotel B%26amp;B, on Eccleston Square. It is just a couple of short blocks behind Victoria Station. It is a nice, quiet street. The hotel is very clean! Breakfast is included. Several different types of rooms are available, I get ensuite. Very reasonable prices.

You haven't said what cheap is so this isn't very easy to answer but staying at a Travelodge would be pretty cheap (by London prices).
I know someone who stayed at the one at Kings Cross and it was fine.
